Workshop for New Strata Council Members (Zoom)
9:00 am – 12:00 pm | This virtual workshop covers the responsibilities of strata council members including meetings, finances, insurance, maintenance & privacy.
If you’ve recently been elected to the council of your condo, townhouse or bare land strata corporation but are unsure of what your responsibilities are and how to carry them out, this workshop will help you to become an effective contributor.
This is also a great refresher course for current council members as well as an introduction for those who may be interested in becoming a council member in the future.
Topics include:
- What are the responsibilities of strata council members?
- The Strata Property Act, Regulations, Bylaws and Rules
- Council organization and effective meetings
- Looking after your property
- Budgets, financial statements
- Depreciation reports and contingency reserve funds
- Keeping records
- Privacy
The workshop will be facilitated by Wendy Wall, president of VISOA.
