How to create a VISOA profile

Individual and associate members

If you were an individual or associate member as of July 26, 2024 we created an account (profile) for you. You just need to create a password. Click on “Member Login” at the top of this website. In the “Login to an Account” box, click “Forgot your password” then follow the instructions to create a password. You will now be able to log in to your account. For a demonstration, watch our video How to log in to your VISOA Member Profile.

An individual member can only have one profile. If you are an individual member that co-owns a strata lot, you can tell your spouse or partner the email address and password to log in to your profile.

An associate member does not own a strata lot and can only have one profile.

If you are not a VISOA member, see our membership plans and benefits. When you purchase a membership your account (profile) is created and you can set your password.

If your strata corporation membership has expired

If your strata corporation has decided not to renew its membership, you can join VISOA as an individual member. See all membership plans and benefits. When you purchase a membership your account (profile) is created and you can set your password.

If your strata corporation is a current member

If your strata is a corporate member of VISOA, any owner of a strata lot can create a free profile under the strata’s corporate membership. If a strata lot has more than one owner, each owner can create a free profile. Each person must use a different email address. Follow the instructions below or watch our video How to log in to your VISOA Member Profile for a demonstration.

Click “Member Login” at the top of this website. See “Is your strata corporation a member?” and click “Create a profile”.

  1. Look up your strata number: [e.g., VIS123]
  2. Click “Create a profile for free under the strata corporation’s membership”.
  3. You’ll be asked a security question to prove you are an owner in our strata. If you don’t know the answer, ask a council member or contact us. We may ask you questions to verify that you are an owner.
  4. Enter your name, phone number, email address, strata lot, and password. Learn how to create a strong password and do not share your password with others.
  5. When you get a thank you message click “Go to My Account”

In Step 4, you might get a message that says “There is already a user account registered to that email address”. This means that a person or a strata council with this email address is already in VISOA’s database. If it is your personal email address, click “Reset your password” and follow the instructions to reset your password. Then login. If it is a general email address for the strata council or an email address that you share with another person see troubleshooting tips for shared email addresses.

How to find your strata plan number

If you don’t know the 3-letter prefix and number for your strata, you can find it by searching the address of your strata lot at www.bcassessment.ca. The plan number is in the legal description of your property (e.g., VIS1234, KAS67, EPS789). The number on your strata plan may not have the same prefix. We’re using the 3-letter code filing system that BC Assessment uses so that it’s easy for you to find this information.

Security question

When you create a free account under a strata corporation’s membership, you have to answer a security question.

You only have to answer the security question once. The next time you want to log in to your account click on “Member Login” at the top of this website. To log in, enter your email address and password and click “Login”. If you can’t remember your password click “Forgot your password” to reset it.
